Disaster Relief
After the Christchurch earthquakes, ShrinkMaster was approached by the EQR for the emergency relief effort repairing damaged and leaking homes. After much frustration trying different methods using plywood, corrugated iron and tarpaulins, shrink wrap was the only system that was 100% waterproof and able to give long lasting and highly effective results.
Since then, ShrinkMaster has worked with numerous builders, home owners and construction companies covering damage sustained as a result of the earthquake.
The situation in Christchurch was so unique, that
ShrinkMaster had to revolutionize the method in which the shrink wrap was installed. To eliminate the need for scaffolding, shrink wrap was applied directly to the houses. This method not only saved money, it also improved the aesthetics of the building and helped to prevent further damage.
Months later the ShrinkMaster system is still secure. Our shrink wrap installation methods have since survived numerous aftershocks and two Polar blasts that hit the South Island bringing with them 100+ km/h winds, snow, sleet and torrential rain.
Natural disasters, such as tornadoes, hurricanes, severe weather conditions, fire and earthquakes, can hit at any time. When they do occur ShrinkMaster provides a 24 hour disaster relief service.
